I was looking for poetry
but I found.
Snake’s venom
Stone’s blood.
Synonyms only for
the stubborn.
Much simpler were
the ginger’s legs.
Red owner of the bookstore.
It’s better to forget how
read and write.
It’s better to suffer
for melancholy.
It’s better to sleep next to her
than a future at Borges’ paradise+.
The imaginary kisses
or the real ones.
Are more appealing when
there is no need to translate them.
+ “I have always imagined that Paradise will be a kind of library.” Jorge Luis Borges
